April 2013

At the end of April 2013 the game was ready for it's first "real" playtesting. By real I mean that the game had rules for combat, retreating, income, recruiting new soldiers, victory points and a victory condition. So in theory it was possible to play the game from start to finish. However, we soon discovered that the game didn't have any real incentive to go for the victory points, so the game never finished. Big thanks to Ole and Kai for participating in the playtesting.

Picture from the playtesting. Here we have goldmines that you needed to control with Sappers to get income for new units, and cities that you needed to get your priest into to get VP. All of these things went out of the game during the following month.

The tracksheet was also updated for this playtesting to include the Priest, and separate tracks for XP and number of soldiers in an army. The wooden cubes used to keep track of things, and the yellow discs used as money was bought at www.spielematerial.de.
